The Dahiru Barau Mangal Foundation has launched a free medical outreach program at Katsina General Hospital on Monday, February 3, 2025. The initiative aims to provide free medical treatment, including medication, laboratory tests, and even surgical procedures, to underprivileged individuals at no cost.

Over 15 Years of Humanitarian Service

Speaking to Katsina Times, Hussein Kabir, a member of the foundation’s board of trustees, highlighted the organization’s long-standing commitment to humanitarian service.

“We have been running this initiative for over 15 years. Our goal is to alleviate the suffering of vulnerable people by providing free healthcare services.”

He explained that the program, officially established in 2018, continues to expand its reach, ensuring that those in dire need receive essential medical attention without financial barriers.

Beneficiaries: The Most Vulnerable in Society

Kabir stated that the primary beneficiaries of the program are the less privileged, particularly those who struggle to afford basic necessities.

“Most of the people benefiting from this program are those facing extreme poverty, some of whom cannot even afford a meal at times.”

He further revealed that over 500 people are expected to benefit from the current phase of the initiative, with plans to extend the program in the future.

Completely Free Healthcare Services

When asked about any possible charges for the services, Kabir reaffirmed that the program is entirely free.

“Patients do not have to pay for anything. From diagnosis to treatment, including post-surgical medication, everything is provided free of charge.”

Commitment to Expanding Humanitarian Efforts

The Dahiru Barau Mangal Foundation is one of the leading humanitarian organizations in Katsina State and Nigeria, focusing on providing essential services in healthcare, education, and food assistance.

Kabir assured that the foundation remains committed to expanding its reach, calling on other organizations and philanthropists to support efforts aimed at improving the lives of disadvantaged communities.

The foundation plans to continue its medical outreach across various healthcare centers to ensure more people benefit from this life-changing initiative.
